WILLIAMSBURG ARTIST APARTMENT
This 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom duplex was reimagined as a bold and highly personal home for an artist client. The renovation prioritized openness and material expression, starting with the removal of walls to create an open connection between the kitchen, dining, and living areas.
Throughout the space, color and finish sets the tone—gray-stained wood panels bring depth and mood to the walls. In the kitchen, tiling was chosen for its practicality but laid in a way that brings visual rhythm and a sense of play. The refrigerator, custom-painted at a local auto body shop, is finished in the same tone as the brass detailing.
Custom millwork and carefully selected trim add warmth and structure. The artist’s own paintings are integrated seamlessly into the design, becoming part of the lived-in landscape of the home.
