dome

This geodesic dome was built by Bo Lee and Seth Prouty as a seasonal home for their family of four. The goal was to create a structure that can be easily taken apart and relocated. Set lightly on the land, the structure uses a kit of dome struts and cover from Pacific Domes and a custom platform built by Seth in their Brooklyn workshop, made from pie-shaped segments so they can be transported and bolted together at the dome site, 1.5 hours north of NYC.

The dome sits on a 25-acre co-op in the Western Hudson Valley, where a group of families share a landscape of cabins, gardens, communal meals, and roaming kids—many of whom have since become teenagers.

The goal was to create something minimal and intentional: a small footprint, a strong connection to the outdoors, and a quiet place to land.
